Overview
SHIBUYA SKY is the observation facility of Shibuya Scramble Square, a skyscraper directly above Shibuya Station. From the 229 m rooftop and the observation floor on the 46th floor, you can look out over the city of Tokyo.
- Tickets are date-and-time tickets: when you buy, you choose the day you will enter and an entry time slot. Entry time slots are every 20 minutes.
- Tickets go on sale at 0:00 Japan time, 2 weeks before the day of entry.
- If adult tickets for a slot sell out on Webket, the official ticket site, you cannot buy them at the on-site counter either. Once you know the day you will go, buy in advance.
- Adult prices differ by entry time slot and by where you buy.
- Tickets at the child price are sold only at the on-site counter.
Where to buy
Where to buy tickets
- Webket, the official ticket site: open it from the "TICKET" page of the SHIBUYA SKY official website. It can also be displayed in English, Chinese, and Korean. To buy, you need to register as a Webket member and log in. Payment is by credit card.
- Travel booking sites of authorized sales agents: the "FAQ" page of the SHIBUYA SKY official website has a list of authorized sales agents.
- The ticket counter on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square: this is the SHIBUYA SKY counter. It sells tickets for dates from that day up to 2 weeks ahead. Adult tickets bought at the counter cost more than those bought on Webket.
For credit cards you can use in Japan, see Do You Need Cash in Japan? | Where Cards Work, ATMs That Accept Overseas Cards, and Currency Exchange.
- Tickets bought from sites or businesses that are not authorized sales agents are invalid, and you cannot enter with them. You also cannot enter with tickets bought on resale sites.
Prices
Prices
Adult prices differ depending on whether your entry time slot is before 15:00 or at 15:00 or later. They also differ by where you buy.
| Adult ticket | Entry time before 15:00 | Entry time at 15:00 or later |
|---|---|---|
| Bought on Webket | ¥2,700 | ¥3,400 |
| Bought at the counter | ¥3,000 | ¥3,700 |
- The adult price applies to people aged 12 and over. However, a child aged 12 who still attends elementary school pays the child price.
- The child price is ¥1,200. It is for children aged 11 and under who are not free under the next point, and for children aged 12 who attend elementary school.
- Children aged 5 and under are free. Children aged 6 are also free if they have not yet started elementary school.
Going with children
- Tickets at the child price are not sold on Webket. Just before entering, go with the child to the ticket counter on the 14th floor and buy one there.
- Even for a slot where adult tickets are sold out, child-price tickets are sold at the counter on the day.
- Children aged 11 and under and children aged 12 who attend elementary school, including children who are free, enter together with a parent or guardian who has an entry ticket.
- Adult tickets may be sold out at the counter, so buy the adults' tickets on Webket in advance.
Booking
Release date and time, and sell-outs
- Tickets go on sale at 0:00 Japan time, 2 weeks before the day of entry.
- If adult tickets for a slot sell out on Webket, that slot is also sold out at the counter. You cannot buy adult tickets for a sold-out slot even if you go to the facility on the day.
- When other people cancel, tickets for a sold-out slot may become available again. Check on the Webket date selection screen.
- If more people join your group later, you can buy additional tickets for the same slot as long as they are still on sale.
Cancellations and changes
- You cannot change the date or entry time of a ticket later. If you want to change them, cancel the ticket and then buy a new one.
- Tickets bought on Webket can be canceled free of charge until the end of the day before the day of entry. Some tickets bought from authorized sales agents' sites can also be canceled in the same way. Check the cancellation method on the site where you bought the ticket.
- As a rule, you cannot cancel on the day of entry itself. However, if the rooftop is closed at your booked entry time, you can cancel as long as you have not entered yet.
- Webket cancellations are made per payment. You cannot cancel only some of the tickets bought together in one payment.
- Tickets bought at the counter cannot be canceled.
- Once you have entered, there is no refund, even if the rooftop is closed. Even when the rooftop is closed, the indoor observation floor on the 46th floor is open.
Step by step
From buying to entering
This is the flow when you buy on Webket.
- On Webket, choose the day you will enter and an entry time slot, choose the number of tickets, and pay by credit card.
- QR codes for everyone in your group, including the buyer, are sent to the email address of the person who bought the tickets.
- During your booked entry time slot, go to the entrance on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, have the QR codes scanned, and enter.
- For the QR codes, either print everyone's codes on paper so that each person carries one sheet, or wait until everyone is together and show all the codes on the buyer's smartphone.
- You cannot enter earlier than the time of your booked slot. For example, if your slot is 14:00-14:19, go to the entrance during that time.
- If you are late, depending on how crowded it is, you may have to wait until a time set by the facility, or you may be refused entry. If the price for the time you actually enter is higher than the price of the ticket you bought, you pay the difference.
- After entering, you can stay until closing time. Once you leave, you cannot enter again.
