Booking
Release dates and sell-outs
- On the official booking site, tickets go on sale one whole month at a time. The sale date is the 1st of the month that is 2 months before the month of your visit. For example, tickets to enter in June, for June 1 through June 30, go on sale on April 1.
- On Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during long holiday seasons, tickets may sell out early. Once you know the day you will go, buy in advance.
- Same-day tickets can also be bought, for time slots that have not sold out, on the booking site and at the on-site ticket counter and ticket machines on 4F. However, on busy days, the ticket counter may not sell tickets. In that case, buy on the booking site or at the ticket machines. On the booking site, you can buy tickets for a time slot until 29 minutes after that time slot starts. No tickets are set aside specifically for same-day sales.
- When planning, do not count on extra tickets being released on the day for time slots that have sold out.
Cancellations and changes
- You cannot change the day of entry, the entry time slot, or the number of people on a ticket after you buy it. If you want to change them, cancel and then buy a new ticket.
- Cancellation fees for tickets bought on the official booking site are as follows. Cancel on My Page on the booking site. Cancellations by phone or email are not accepted.
| When you cancel | Cancellation fee |
|---|---|
| Up to 31 days before the day of entry | None |
| From 30 days before the day of entry until the start time of your entry time slot | 20% of the price |
| After your entry time slot has started | Cannot be canceled |
- If you cancel within 59 minutes of buying, there is no cancellation fee. However, you cannot cancel after your entry time slot has started.
- Even on days when the view is hard to see because of rain or clouds, there are no refunds or discounts.
- If someone in your group cannot come on the day, tell the staff at the on-site ticket counter that same day, and you will get back the price of the unused tickets minus ¥300 per ticket. This applies only to tickets bought on the official booking site, and only when at least one other person in the group enters.
- To cancel tickets bought from a hotel or travel agency, contact the place where you bought them.
Step by step
From buying to entering
These are the steps when you buy on the official booking site.
- On the official booking site, choose the day you will enter and an entry time slot, choose the number of people, and pay.
- When your booking is complete, you receive an email. Open the link in the email, or go to My Page on the booking site, to display the QR code you use to enter.
- During the entry time slot you booked, go to the entrance on 4F of TOKYO SKYTREE and join the line for people who bought in advance. Hold the QR code over the reader at the entry gate to enter. You do not need to stop at the ticket counter.
- You cannot enter earlier than the time slot you booked.
- Besides showing the QR code on your smartphone screen, you can also use a screenshot of it or a paper printout. Saving a screenshot in advance is a good idea, so you can show it even if the signal at the entrance is weak.
- If you are late, you can still enter, as long as it is the same day you booked and before the last entry time. Join the end of the line that staff direct you to. When it is crowded, you may wait a long time.
- Once inside, you can stay as long as you like. After you go back down to the ground, you cannot enter again.
- When it is crowded, you may have to wait to get on the elevator even if you bought in advance.
