Overview
SAC'S BAR is a chain of stores specializing in bags, selling bags, suitcases, wallets and more. It is operated by Tokyo Derica Co., Ltd., a group company of SAC'S BAR HOLDINGS Inc. Besides SAC'S BAR, Tokyo Derica also operates stores under other names, such as GRAN SAC'S. This article explains, based on official information (checked on October 19, 2026), how to buy a suitcase or bag at SAC'S BAR, or at the same company's stores under another name, when you suddenly need one during your trip.
- There are stores in places that travelers can easily reach, such as Tokyo Station, Yurakucho, Ikebukuro, Odaiba and Namba in Osaka. Narita Airport has one store in each of Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, and every one of them is located before the security check. For details, see "Where to buy" in this article.
- According to the company, as of the end of March 2026, Tokyo Derica had 567 stores across Japan. This number also includes stores under names other than SAC'S BAR.
- The official online store divides suitcases into five sizes by the number of nights you stay and the capacity (liters). For details, see "Choosing a size" in this article.
- The official SAC'S BAR website has no information about tax-free procedures. For details, see "Conditions" in this article.
What to buy
Photos of the sales floor
The photos in this article were taken by the operator of this site at one SAC'S BAR store. Not every store necessarily has the same products. The photos show the products and price tags as they were when the photos were taken.

- Above the store entrance is a sign that reads "SAC'S BAR". In front of the store, suitcases, backpacks and handbags were lined up.

- These are suitcase shelves. Suitcases of different sizes and colors were lined up on three shelves, and price tags were placed near the suitcases. The price tags were red and read "SPECIAL PRICE". Along the edge of the shelves, there were also red tags that read "SALE" (at the time of the photo).

- This is a display of suitcases in a size you can take into the airplane cabin. On top of the display was an information sign with airline logos and QR codes. The size and weight rules for baggage you can take into the cabin differ by airline. Before you buy, check the information from the airline you will fly with.
- To the right of the display were signs that read 「お店で選んで自宅で受取り」 (choose in store and receive it at home) and 「新品を無料配送」 (new items delivered free of charge). The company explains that if the store does not have the color or size you want in stock, you can choose the product on the store's tablet, pay on the spot, and have the product delivered or pick it up at the store. Whether you have it delivered or pick it up at the store, it can be as early as the next day. The company's information gives a home in Japan as the delivery address. The official information does not say whether you can use the hotel where you are staying as the delivery address, or whether items can be sent to an address outside Japan.
Choosing a size
The official SAC'S BAR online store divides suitcases into the following five sizes. The number of nights is a guideline.
| Size category | Guideline for number of nights | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| SS | 1–3 nights | Up to 40 L |
| S | 3–5 nights | 41–60 L |
| M | 5–7 nights | 61–80 L |
| L | 7–10 nights | 81–100 L |
| LL | 10 nights or more | 101 L or more |
- The "L" in the "Capacity" column means liters. The "L" in the "Size category" column is the name of a category.
- In the official categories, the boundary numbers of nights (3, 5, 7 and 10 nights) are included in two categories. If your stay is exactly one of these numbers of nights, choose either category according to how much luggage you have.
- The online store also has the categories 「機内持ち込み可能サイズ」 (carry-on size), 「ソフトキャリー」 (soft-sided suitcases made of fabric) and 「ボストンキャリー」 (Boston bags with wheels).
- If you buy a second suitcase to hold souvenirs, also check the airline's rules on the number and weight of bags you can check in on your flight home.
Other things you can buy besides suitcases
The official online store also sells backpacks, tote bags, shoulder bags, Boston bags, wallets, travel goods and more. Brands sold include PORTER, POTR and BRIEFING. The products and brands carried differ by store.

According to the official information, only items marked 「店舗受取対象」 (eligible for store pickup) in the online store can be picked up at a store. With this method, you can put only one such item in one order. You cannot add other items to the same order. The item arrives at the store in about 2–4 business days, and you pick it up within 7 days after receiving an email saying it has arrived.

Can you buy tax-free?
The official websites of SAC'S BAR and Tokyo Derica have no information about tax-free procedures (checked on October 19, 2026). The official information also does not say whether you can buy tax-free at the three stores at Narita Airport. Before you buy, ask the store staff whether you can buy tax-free at that store.
Changes from November 1, 2026
Japan's tax-free system changed on November 1, 2026 (according to the Japan Tourism Agency).
- For purchases made on or after November 1, 2026, you pay the price including consumption tax at the store. When you leave Japan, customs checks your items at the airport or port, and then the consumption tax amount is refunded. To receive the refund, you must leave Japan within 90 days from the date of purchase and have customs check your items at that time.
- According to the Japan Tourism Agency, from November 1, 2026, purchases are eligible for tax-free treatment when the total amount bought at the same store on the same day is ¥5,000 (tax excluded) or more.
- According to the Japan Tourism Agency, when customs checks your items, you must have with you all the items you bought tax-free. You cannot complete the check after you have checked your baggage in with the airline. Whether it is a suitcase you bought tax-free or other tax-free items, have them checked at a tax-free procedure kiosk at the airport before you check them in at the airline counter.
The tax-free conditions and the procedure when you leave Japan are explained in Tax-Free Shopping in Japan | The Refund Method from November 2026 and What to Do When You Leave Japan.
